Outfit Ideas: Happy Birthday To My Bike Pretty Mama

A few weeks ago I met my mom at her house for family dinner, and I arrived while she was still out running errands.

She pulled up to the house in that cute polka dot skirt and a pretty T-shirt. It's a casual–yet pulled together–look for a warm spring day. When I saw her biking outfit, I couldn't resist dragging her into an impromptu photo shoot.

A couple of baguettes from the local bakery were poking out of her pannier. "Mom," I told her, "you're living the dream."

She's been biking to work for almost as long as I can remember. And a set of bright bike lights are essential for rolling through the suburbs after sunset. But her showpiece is the beautiful Cameo Bike Bell from Eleanor's.

I found her polka-dot, gored skirt a few years ago. For such a classic style, it's nearly impossible to find something similar nowadays, but I did come across this one. 

She prefers to wear fingerless biking gloves. They protect hands from the sun and road rash. I like these crocheted-cotton and leather gloves for warm weather riding.

I love you, Mom! Thanks for being a wonderful inspiration for me. I admire all you've accomplished. And on top of that, you managed to raise such fun, independent kids. I'm so glad that we live near each other and get to hang out all the time. Happy Birthday!
